Reception, breakfast and restaurant service belong to another house of the same chain, a few streets off.

When the weather turns

Rudolf keeps its rooms and sends much else a few streets off: reception, breakfast and restaurant service belong to another house of the same chain, and that is worth saying plainly. So a wet, blowing morning in town begins with a decision about a coat rather than a decision about a room.

Where everyone goes

Guests end up in the other building, in its lobby and its dining room, and come back with the day already spent. Between the two, the street does the connecting; there is no passage. Inside Rudolf itself the day settles into the rooms, several of which have a sauna of their own.

What stops working

Because the front desk sits elsewhere, anything needing staff waits for the walk. Outdoor excursions leaving from town depend on conditions and may not run, and the short crossing between the two houses is nobody's favourite part of a grey day.

What the building does

The building answers with an entrance straight off the street, a lift, and rooms warm enough to keep people in them. A restaurant occupies the street level of the block, so a meal does not have to mean the longer walk.
